Bannon wants holy war against Islam. Ground troops in Syria raise risk of capture/torture/beheading

of those American troops. ISIS has long wanted this sort of confrontation, but fortunately Obama was too smart to give them what they wanted.

But both Bannon and Trump are psychopaths who would be only too happy to exploit any harm done to our troops by ISIS to promote the holy way Bannon has said he wants, and the Muslim ban Trump repeatedly said he wanted.

And it would also be the perfect propaganda tool to divert attention from the unending scandals swirling around Trump and his immoral and incompetent aides and cronies.

There's been lots of speculation in recent weeks that the Trump admin might create a false-flag operation they could exploit.

But with people already so suspicious that Trump might try this, it would be easier for them to send ground forces into Syria. If they're successful despite how risky such an operation would be, Trump can exploit that win.

But if there are casualties, and especially if US troops are captured, tortured and beheaded by ISIS, Trump could exploit that even more, and give Bannon the holy war against Islam that he's been talking about for years.
