Trump kept saying Putin has a spy ship, shot a missile, etc. because Putin

felt he can't get a deal with Trump because of the dishonest media and fake news.

Implication being it's all the media's fault that Putin is being forced to do these things since all the fake news about Trump/Putin ties.

If only the press would say good things about Putin and good things about Trump, then there wouldn't be a Russia spy ship off the US coast.

Because each time someone asked him about Russia's actions, he shrugged and said, well Putin maybe feels he can't get a deal with Trump.

Meaning it was a show of force that Putin was forced into because of the media telling lies about Trump/Putin ties.

Putin's actions are not Putin's fault. The American Press is to blame.

Then he said he could blow that ship out of the water and everyone would be happy.

Yes, he's that stupid. To think people would cheer a declaration of war.

The majority of the presser was to attack the press.

it is terrifying to me that the meme 'fake news' and all of the actual fake news online and so on are straight from Russia and we are hearing it daily, if not hourly...for stupid people, i.e. his base, that old rule about repetition has long kicked in...I think it is twelve times you have to hear something for it to be considered true...

And it is interesting to me that this is how far reaching their intentions are, they did not plan to just attack a segment of the press as partisan, they want to take down the entire machine, so they must have forseen that at some point the rt wing press would turn on Trump. It is beyond creepy to me the influence Putin is having on our country, coming straight out of Trumps mouth every time he talks or tweets 'fake news'...

And Putin would cheer it.

Trump has benefited from actual fake news, got called on, and now they undermine actual news by calling it fake news. Which is part of crushing or controlling the media.

And you're right, it's beyond terrifying how people fall for it.

At all. Bannon maybe, but I am not sure. I think this is Putin to the very core of it, he is working for Putin, and the fact that he is gunning for the entire press not just calling segments of the press 'partisan' etc proves it. They had to have known that they would not have allies in the rt wing press eventually either.

editing to add, this is why I go so much further. It's proven Russia hacked the DNC and the sudden overwhelming onslaught of fake news that hit the internet seemingly out of nowhere just before the election most probably could be proven to be from Russia as well, that was the set up, that was getting people accustomed to the meme fake news, that was where it began. I don't for a second believe Trump tied the 'fake news' all over social media in the months prior to the election (I was on facebook, that is where I saw most of the stories) to his defenses of his indefensible behavior because he is just that kind of strategist, that is naive...Russia has a masterful propaganda wing, it is what they do, and for the first time (that we are aware of) they have aimed it straight at America, and with very, very little effort have managed to influence a presidential election. Frightening.

I kept hoping they'd go back at him forcefully.

The one good thing about the presser is his words can be used against him later. Should the need arise, they can use his answers against him. About what he knew about Flynn/Russia, his own ties to Russia, etc..
