MSNBC says that Trump is planning on deporting 11 Million undocumented aliens.

Just let that sink in for a moment. Not just ones with a criminal history, ALL undocumented workers. Just wait until there are no farm hands to work the fields. No restaurant dishwashers, cooks, servers, etc.

This is new EO he is going to have a Mass Deportation Plan.

The US already has the highest rate of incarceration in the world, at over 2 million, how can people take seriously a plan to deport 5 times that many people without destroying the nation?

Who does he think does most of the manual labor in hotels and restaurants, including his? Who does most of the landscaping? Who's maintaining his golf greens?

And how many rich people employ undocumented housekeepers, nannies and gardeners? Who's going to harvest the crops? In some states vegetables have already been rotting in the fields because there aren't enough people to pick them. Like it or not, many industries, especially hospitality, agriculture and construction, employ undocumented immigrants - often because they can get away with paying low wages and counting on them not to complain about labor law violations. But if those people are gone, we can all count on paying a lot more for food, services and construction. The reality is that kicking them out might create some more low-paying jobs for Americans, but the wages will have to be higher for those jobs to be filled, and the result will be higher prices for everyone.

There as always been a war in the GOP between the xenophobes who hate Mexicans and the business owners who want cheap labor. Looks like the xenophobes are winning, and the business owners, who are actually more powerful, won't like it.

and it will hit Trump businesses, hard. But I doubt that he realized that when he signed it. He just isn't that deep or able to think about consequences of his actions- because being surrounded by sycophants never requires one to reflect. It is always confirmed that problems are someone else's fault.

ARe going to take those below wage jobs in the meat packing industry. Or picking produce in the farm states. Yeah, I can really see those snowflakes are going to work those hard thankless jobs.
Or the rich people who have undocumented maids and nannies. I can't wait for the backlash towards the mf'er.

He doesn't want to be in a country which treats immigrants so poorly. He was not an underpaid farm hand by a long shot. 25% of our doctors and researchers are foreign born, this reaches every sector of the economy, never mind regular travelers who will go elsewhere. This is beyond bad.

But seriously... Trying to implement such a move would be totally insane. Even for the crazy orange cockroach.

Thu Feb 16, 2017, 10:08 PM

Maybe 1.3 million were arrested in the interior of the country,, with the rest apprehended near the border

So to deport 11 million people from the interior of the US in the next 8 years must involve a budget around ten times the current deportation budget

In fact,it must involve a much heftier budget increase, since the current deportation backlog is around 500 thousand cases: if we try to ramp up to 11 million deportations, we might expect a backlog around 5 million cases

Share a Greenwich Village apartment with Vladimir Putin. Nuke Iran. Build the wall and make Mexico pay for it. Serve two terms. I doubt very much he will come anywhere close to doing any of those things. Deporting undocumented people is complicated and expensive. Unfortunately, he will go for the low hanging fruit to start out, and that probably means mostly farm workers.
