What are the chances the 4th choice is going to be happy about the offer?

Also, given the recent problems with leaks, is he really a wise choice?

MSNBC reporting that he wanted more control than the White House would give him.

Petraeus would never get anywhere near national secrets ever again! He's been convicted of sharing state secrets with his MISTRESS FFS!

This is so sick... I just can't even express it anymore. It is getting to the point where the expression of outrage in mere words is not enough, where protest is not going to be enough. We need action from the Democratic Party... some kind of meaningful protest by them.

Maybe he/she would be an extreme example of really "taking one for the team". The "team" being all of us on planet earth.

pretty clear you wouldn't be able to speak your mind/do the right thing either - Trump would have control over you - and could fire you on a whim. Plus Trump doesn't even know right from wrong in the national security realm - so you would be constantly having to do things that might be illegal.

You are right - who in their right mind would accept those impossible challenges. Even if it was a patriot - they would have to seriously assume they would not last very long.

would say - I have zero experience in that field - would have to pass. Palin didn't as VP. Trump didn't as president. DeVoss didn't as Secy of Ed. Carson didn't on housing.

Sure there are more examples.

In January 2015, officials reported the FBI and Justice Department prosecutors had recommended bringing felony charges against Petraeus for allegedly providing classified information to his biographer, Paula Broadwell (with whom he was having an affair), while serving as Director of the CIA.[20] Eventually, Petraeus pled guilty to one misdemeanor charge of mishandling classified information.[21]

Say what you want, but Harward and Petreus are at least sane human beings who will try to keep us out of WWIII. Flynn was absolutely bonkers and whoever takes the job now might be just as crazy.

It's amusing seeing this administration flounder, but we need competent people to make life and death decisions.
