RECORD high stock markets have raised fears the bubble could BURST with a devastating crash looming on the horizon.
Britain's top stock index the FTSE 100 is around 20 per cent higher since the UK voted to leave the European Union (EU), having reached it highest ever level in January.
This week US stock markets have also reached fresh record highs, with the Dow Jones and S&P 500 both up more than 20 per cent compared with a year earlier.
And Donald Trump will face a big test on February 28 when he addresses the US Congress, where he is expected to provide more detail on tax and spending plans.
In recent months, stock markets have been boosted by expectations of a huge spending drive by new US President Donald Trump.
The so-called 'Trump Trade' banks on the leader's plans to boost the US economy and the performance of companies, with the effects felt across the world.
In Britain the FTSE 100 has also been boosted by a weaker pound, as well as stimulus from the Bank of England following the Brexit vote.
But experts are now becoming nervous that soaring values are near their peaks, as shares could be seen as expensive through certain technical measures.
Online investment managers Nutmeg today announced exposure to US markets has been cut to focus on emerging market economies.
The President is now the most likely trigger for a mass sell-off, according to Kathleen Brooks, research director at City Index Direct.
She said: "President Trump, rather than valuation measures, are a bigger threat to the stock market rally.
"The Presidents big test will come on 28th February, when he addresses the US Congress.
"If he fails to deliver tremendous, even beautiful, plans on taxes and infrastructure spending then the bottom could easily fall out of the market."
If US stocks crash shockwaves are set to be felt throughout global markets.
