Some of our best positioned candidates are women. I would prefer Joaquin Castro on the ticket as VP instead of Julian. Joaquin has important national level foreign policy and intelligence experience. I think Kirsten Gillibrand would be a good nominees from our side, I also like Chris Van Hollen. A Gillibrand/Joaquin Castro ticket would be a youngish, highly experienced ticket that can beat Trump.

MN US Senator Amy Klobuchar for Vice President.
Looking at the purple/red state Democratic Governors.
LA-John Bel Edwards-D is pro life
MN-Mark Dayton-D will be 73 years old in 2020.
MT-Steve Bullock-D is better off running for US Senate against Steve Daines-R in 2020
NC-Roy Cooper-D could run for re-election as Governor or US Senate against Tom Tillis-R in 2020
PA-Tom Wolf-D will be 72 years old in 2020.
VA-Terry McAullife-D is too close with the Clintons.
WV-Jim Justice-D could run for re-election as Governor of US Senate against Shelly Moore Capito-R in 2020.
Hickenlooper-CO is term limited as Governor in 2018, He has over an year to prepare for a Presidential campaign. Before Governor, Hickenlooper-CO served as Mayor of Denver and before that was a businessman. Hickenlooper is a fiscal moderate and social Libertarian.
Looking at the purple/red state Democratic US Senators.
CO -Michael Bennet-D could run for President in 2020 if Hickenlooper does not run and if CO elects a Democrat to the CO governorship in 2018.
FL-Bill Nelson-D will be 78 years old in 2020.
IN-Joe Donnelly-D will be defeated for re-election in 2018, He could run for Governor of IN in 2020.
MI-Debbie Stabenow-D or Gary Peters could run for President or VP if MI elects a Democratic Governor in 2018.
MN-Al Franken-D is up for re-election in 2020, he could run for President instead of the US Senate.
MO-Claire McCaskill-D will be be defeated for re-election in 2018, She could run for Governor of MO in 2020.
MT-Jon Tester-D will be defeated for re-election in 2018, he could run for Governor of MT in 2020.
NV-Catherine Cortez Masto-D could run for President or VP if NV elects a Democratic Governor in 2018.
NH-Jeanne Shaheen-D will be 73 in 2020, Maggie Hassan-D could run for President or VP if NH elects a Democratic Governor in 2018.
NM-Tom Udall-D will be 72 in 2020, Martin Heinrich-D could run for President or VP in 2020 if NM elects a Democratic Governor in 2018.
ND-Heidi Heitkamp-D will be defeated for re-election in 2018, she could run for Governor of ND in 2020.
OH-Sherrod Brown-D could run for President or Vice President if OH elects a Democratic Governor in 2018.
PA-Bob Casey-D is pro life.
VA-Mark Warner-D is up for re-election in 2020, Tim Kaine was on the losing ticket in 2016.
WV-Joe Manchin-D is pro life.
WI-Tammy Baldwin-D could run for President or Vice President in 2020 if WI elects a Democratic Governor in 2018.
Klobuchar-MN won both of her US Senate Races 2006 and 2012 by a landslide margin, she is likely to win in 2018 by a landslide margin. MN is likely to elect a Democratic Governor in 2018.
Hickenlooper/Klobuchar-D could carry all of the Clinton/Kaine 2016 states (232ev) plus PA-20 (252v),MI-16 (268ev) and WI-10 (278ev) in 2020.

She is a popular statewide elected official in MN-a purple/blue state. She won both of her US Senate Races in MN (2006 and 2012) by a landslide margin. She was a district attorney before she got elected to the US Senate, she also was legal advisor to Walter Mondale. A Democrat is likely to win the MN Governorship in 2018 so Klobuchar is likely to be succeeded by a Democrat.
Klobuchar-MN will turn WI,MN,and PA into a blue states.
Klobuchar-MN Vice Presidential running mate could be a Julian Castro-TX, a young Hispanic male, Castro could turn AZ and FL into blue states.

Warren-MA serves on the Armed Services committee but is too old to run for President or Vice President.
McCaskill-MO serves on the Armed Services and Homeland Security committee but MO currently has a Republican Governor.
Shaheen-NH serves on the Armed Services and Foreign Relations committee but is too old to run for President or Vice President.
Hassan-NH serves on the Homeland Security committee but NH currently has a Republican Governor.
Gillibrand-NY serves on the Armed Services committee.
Heitkamp-ND serves on the Homeland Security committee but ND currently has a Republican Governor.
Baldwin-WI serves on the Homeland Security committee but WI currently has a Republican Governor.
Gillibrand-NY should be the Democratic candidate for President and Joaquin Castro-TX should be a Democratic candidate for Vice President. Gillibrand/Castro-D turns FL-29 into a blue state (261ev). winning either AZ,MI,PA,or WI puts that ticket over the 270ev threshold.

Vice President in 2020.
Joaquin is a member of the United States House of Representative since 2011. He is a member of the US House Intelligence committee and the Foreign Affairs committee giving experience in Foreign policy.
Joaquin should first run for US Senate against Ted Cruz in 2018 to increase his name recognition statewide in TX and nation wide. If he loses, he could have over a year to prepare for a Presidential run in 2020. If Joaquin wins the 2018 TX US Senate Races. He would move to the top tier list in 2020. Julian should run for Governor of TX in 2018 to make sure Democrats occupy the TX Governorship then run for US Senate in 2022 Special Election assuming Joaquin becomes President or Vice President in 2021. Julian could then run for President in 2028 after Joaquin is term limited as President or 2036 if Joaquin completes 2 terms as Vice President and President. Julian will be 62 years old in 2036.
