Rubio--our best hope for a breakthrough?

Rubio has shown signs before of bucking the party bosses (Tillerson nomination), although he's wilted in the end. Maybe he just needs some more gumption. We know he's ambitious and wants to be prez. I actually thought he was the most likely nominee this year on the R side. What if we started a drive among Democratic voters to contact Rubio's office and communicate to him that if he were to get out in front of this and push for an independent commission to investigate, he would come out smelling like a rose (bipartisan patriot) and be vaulted into the position of frontrunner for the 2020 nomination? Worth a try?

mclame is the grandfather of this, he had the reputation of being the most "mavericky" of republicans, taking very public stands contrary to party orthodoxy on a number of occassional.

but then he never actually voted against the party when it mattered. the party doesn't really need unanimity if it's winning a senate vote 55-45, e.g. they can have a few senators defect if they want to be "mavericky" or need to woo democrats in a blue state.

rubio knows he can't win without the help of people who voted for donnie, so he can criticize, but he can't cross.

Never, ever get hope from his actions. He has ZERO backbone and ZERO care for this country. He was ridiculed by Trump, who called him Little Marco right to his face. Marco threatened not to support him... and then did.

He started out tough on Tillerson- then did anyway.

He isn't even a halfway decent human being and he sucks as a politician. He goes with whoever bullies him.

stand up for what's right. When has he ever been anything other than an opportunistic whiney weasel, and nothing more. Nothing of substance.

To quote an unnamed Guild Navigator 'You are
transparent... I see many things... I see
plans within plans.

EMPEROR
Is there a problem?... Usually there is a
problem when one of you makes a visit.

No answer.

NAVIGATOR
(finally)
The answer is within the problem...'

This isn't by accident. The current power at the top will fall for many reasons but the IC will be at the root of that downfall. To assume that there isn't a core of Republican congresspersons who haven't planned for multiple contingencies after the Gropers nomination and his possible demise would be unrealistic. The damage done by their complicity and conspiratorial actions should be prosecuted by the next Democratic administration without the regard towards decorum that we have, for too long, embraced.

An especially slimy one too. His word is utterly worthless (like Donnies). He would sell any dem or republican out for his own gain.
