Rep. Jeffries says Bannon 'is a stone cold racist'

This must be repeated until Bannon is banned from the White House not just the NSC.

Rep. Hakeem Jeffries said Friday that any meeting between the Congressional Black Caucus and President Donald Trump should not include senior adviser Steve Bannon — because he's "a stone cold racist and a white supremacist sympathizer."

"We're looking forward to an open dialogue, but Steve Bannon should not be in the room," Jeffries said on MSNBC Friday afternoon.
Asked why Bannon ought not participate, Jeffries said: "Well listen he's a stone cold racist and a white supremacist sympathizer. It'd be hard for me to participate in any meeting with Steve Bannon that normalizes his presence in the White House."

The former Breitbart News leader's inclusion in the Trump administration has drawn strong opposition from minority groups and Democrats alike, and many have leveled charges of racism against him.

4. Under Bannon's leadership, Breitbart writers include the founder of an anti-LGBT hate group.

In the past, Ruse used his perch at Breitbart to peddle conspiracy theories about the hate-crime murder of gay teen Matthew Shepard. He described Shepard as a "winsome young homosexual," "achingly handsome," and "delicately chiseled," and blasted "Matthew Shepard Inc." for promoting the "lie" that homophobia contributed to his murder.

Also welcomed into the fold by Bannon: Katie McHugh, an openly racist Breitbart writer whose contribution to American political discourse include "slaves built the US the way cows built McDonalds."

There was some cosmic justice. After stringing along a slew of nominees for secretary of state, ultimately humiliating Mitt Romney, President Donald Trump got a dose of his own medicine. The Post reports:

"Retired Vice Adm. Robert Harward has turned down President Trump's offer to become his new national security adviser, according to two people with knowledge of the decision.

"Harward would have replaced Michael Flynn, who announced his resignation late Monday amid allegations that he discussed U.S. sanctions with a Russian official before Trump took office and then misrepresented the content of that conversation to Vice President Pence and other administration officials.

He does not go out of his way, he is just too stupid to understand. "Are they your friends? Can you set up a meeting?"
Bannon is just more aggressive with his racism.

Maybe I'm reading into this too much, and I'm certainly not judging the entire southern population, but is there not a Confederate slant to the "Southern White House" Trump tweeted about today?

I think Donnie switched from calling it the "winter" WH because that was going to run pretty thin now that spring is nigh.

You're right about "Southern" being a big 'ol dog whistle.

against Trump seem to be using the IC to go after him. It seems they will not work with Bannon not due to the reasons we can't stand him but more about neocons versus a more pro-Putin view of foreign policy which appears to be part of Bannon's world view. They're a disturbing kind of crazy, they both seem to want to undue Obama's Iran deal, which was a monumental success. Russia and China will not sit back and look the other way if they try and screw that up, neither one of them is looking for more war. What we have on the horizon gives me no sense of relief since the fundies/Bannon group and neocons are crazy. Putin is looking for any relief from sanctions and also for NATO to not expand. They may have something damaging on Trump, I don't know, forcing him to release his taxes may be one way to find out. And then there is the Syrian issue too.

Regardless, if we can remove Bannon from the NSC circle, even if for the wrong reasons, that being the neocons don't like him, I don't care. After that we work on getting him out of the White House altogether. He and his followers are vile and toxic for our country.
