The BBC Compares Trump's Rhetoric to That of Stalin and Mao

(Trump's) use of "enemies of the people" raises unavoidable echoes of some of history's most murderous dictators.

Under Soviet leader Joseph Stalin, out-of-favour artists and politicians were designated enemies and many were sent to hard labour camps or killed. Others were stigmatised and denied access to education and employment.

And Chairman Mao, the leader of China who presided over the deaths of millions of people in a famine brought about by his Great Leap Forward, was also known to use the phrase against anyone who opposed him, with terrible consequences.

-snip-

Gabriel Sherman, national affairs editor at New York magazine, called the phrase a "chilling" example of "full-on dictator speak".

But he's really a Stalinist. His goal is to commit a genocide that would make the Holocaust look like child's play.

Keep reporting the truth, BBC.

I totally trust the BBC (and ITN) over #45. They know telling the truth works, they've been doing it longer than #45 has been alive. Telling the truth, even if it wasn't favourable to the British Government has worked for the BBC. It best Goebbels in WW2. When the Soviet Union fell, Gorbachev was detained for a while; he kept up to date via BBC Russian Service... He said BBC was credible.

Bad news for #45 is that in 4, 8, more years time BBC will still be there. He will eventually leave office. Eventually people will figure out the truth, even the supporters of Agent Orange.
