Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it's going to take something catastrophic to happen to his base for trump to be gone. It will have to affect them personally.

trump, congress, and right-wing states have free rein now, and they are going to take advantage of that to the nth degree. Their response to investigations, charges of illegal activities, treason, sedition, fraud and lying is, "Blow me, motherfuckers... we're in power now, we're not going to investigate our own - you can't make us even though ethically we should, and our heavily-armed base of delusional, knuckle-dragging libtard haters have our backs and are willing to open fire at trumps orders. So, please - don't get all hopeful and breathless every time someone says trump is going down... as most of us have several times now.

His base must also want his removal for him to be gone... and I don't see that happening any time soon, if at all.

My feeling is they want Pence, and they do not consider Trump's base to be their base, and I know this because when Fox news, the mouthpiece of the GOP, is being critical of Trump, then something is amiss. Do people really believe that suddenly GOP shills have seen the error of their ways and become patriots...um no. They have their marching orders, as they have ALWAYS had.

The one thing the GOP doesn't tolerate, being the authoritarians they are, is disobedience. Pence will kiss their rings. Trump doesn't have the mental stability to even fake that kind of subservience. All republican presidents are puppets and Trump is a narcissist which means his ego is averse to falling in line to his big bosses. Putin is his only real boss, and that is not going to be good enough. I don't know if they will manage to keep the mess under wraps for the length of t he first term, but it sure is fun to watch them try. The fact that there is already some sign of the rats jumping ship via the shills decrying Trump on tv doesn't bode well for him remaining around for too long.

I don't have any confidence in impeachment and I am an extremely optimistic and positive person normally. This is going to be agonizing and drawn out. I still have to believe that the resistance will overcome.
