"SNIP...........
Through malice and incompetence, Trump has shambled into a paradox, whereby anyone who agrees to work for him will have exhibited a disqualifying error of judgment, guaranteeing him an administration filled with knaves, hacks, and vandals. John Bolton may be an incrementally less horrifying national security adviser than General Michael Flynn was, but its hard to say. The Trump White House withdrew Bolton from consideration for multiple Senate-confirmable positions because even Republicans wouldnt willingly consent to allowing him into the government.
The other people Trump is considering, while less alarming than Bolton, also speak to the thinning pool of talent he has available to him.

I feel like the logic of if Obama fired him, he must be good has some flaws.

(27,045 posts)Others want to have their own team. Bolton will take his orders from Bannon and Kushner and like it.

(5,954 posts)But it looks like a real possibility now. The only people who would accept a job from Trump are disqualified on the grounds of insanity.

That being said, however, if total insanity is a requirement to be Trump's National Security Advisor...my money is on GORKA. Bolton is crazy, but he never worked for BREITBART. Gorka was Breitbart's in-house National Security wonk, so I'd guess he has Bannon's backing.
Want proof of Gorka's insanity? Witness him wearing a freaking PERIOD COSTUME to Trump's inauguration ball.

their own people. Is that so that the nsa will only be privy to information bannon/miller want them to have. So that Trump will not be informed about everything? Is that the end game? I guess Bolton is one of them. But the other candidates for nsa somehow seem to need to be controlled.

(5,045 posts)Trump is nearing a perfect storm of incompetence with his cabinet picks. At this rate it shouldn't take more than six months to start World War III AND throw the American economy into the deepest depression ever recorded.
All a fitting legacy to the short and tragic life of the Trump Presidency.

(17,374 posts)This (yes, seriously) weighs against him getting a job.
In the end this administration will be fully staffed out by Bannon's Breitbart lackeys.
