This is a special election that will take place on February 25, 2017. The Democratic senator who previously held this seat, Bethany Hall-Long, is now Lieutenant Governor. Hall-Long won DE-10 in 2014 by only 267 votes, which was approximately 2% of the ~12,000 votes cast. This is expected to be a close race.
Delaware has 21 state senators. Right now, with this seat vacant, 10 are Republicans and 10 are Democrats. This election will determine which party controls the chamber.
Raised in Delaware, Stephanie is a mother, community advocate, and experienced leader who always puts her neighbors first. She’s a fierce advocate for seniors, has created jobs and preserved open space, and will fight to end Delaware's addiction epidemic. As former New Castle County Council President, Stephanie led the way on economic development efforts that created jobs and allowed the county to keep taxes low and helped bring Glasgow Regional Park to the 10th District.
