Take time to be "selfish". Take time to care for yourself. Do it for me. Do it for our future.

Many of us here are very contentious when it comes to all things around us. We simply care about people, animals, the environment, etc. When we watch decisions being made that hurt our neighbors, ourselves, animals, and the environment; we feel it on a personal level. These feelings can manifest themselves in many different ways. Anger. Hate. Stress. Depression. Exhaustion.

When these things build we become less efficient. We become poor decision makers. We start to lose a bit of our best attributes. Please make sure to take personal inventory. Try to do things that will keep you at your best. Walk. Enjoy the environment. Have tea with a friend. Put together a puzzle. Whatever helps to put your mind at ease. It's not selfish. At all. We all benefit when we are running at our best.

and leaving it in the box while I spend time with my wife, pets, my hobbies - music and movies and books I love. It isn't easy - since the election it is an unprecedented (unpresidented??) challenge - but I completely agree and your reminder is thoughtful and important.

Study after study has proven a measurable, rather dramatic benefit to mood and well-being from doing so.
