Donald Trump's supporters have trouble understanding why liberals are shunning them

Trump supporters say they were bullied into supporting a very disliked president

MATTHEW ROZSA

President Donald Trump’s approval ratings may have reached historic lows in record time, but even as 40 percent of the country wants him impeached, supporters of Trump seem mystified by the fierceness of the opposition he faces — even as individuals on the fence often admit to feeling turned off by that same hostility.

“They’re stonewalling everything that he’s doing because they’re just being babies about it,” Patricia Melani, a 56-year-old New Jersey transplant who attended Trump’s campaign rally in Florida on Saturday, told The Washington Post. “All the loudmouths? They need to let it go. Let it go. Shut their mouths and let the man do what he’s got to do. We all shut our mouths when Obama got in the second time around, okay? So that’s what really needs to be done.”

She later added, “There’s such hatred for the man. I just don’t get it.”

The Post also quoted a 28-year-old car salesman named Tony Lopez, who said “It was hilarious to see him give it to the media. The media’s problem is that they keep wanting to make up stories so that he looks bad. It doesn’t work. He’s talking right through you guys.”

Really?

The American people IMHO have more reason to dislike Trump than anybody ever had reason to legitimately dislike President Obama.

He and his tea baggers started before Obama was sworn in. This writer should have at least pointed out how quickly the Tea party movement started or When Donny started tweeting that Obama wasn't born in the USA.

So they get to whine for 4 years and we get 4 weeks and then have to shut up? She obviously didn't even hear what she herself just said.

if all of the "stonewalling" is coming as a shock to them.

They "shut (their) mouths when Obama got in the second time around"? You all set the precedent with your teabagger crap. Turnabout is fair play. What a bunch of whiny little delicate snowflakes.

They voted for fascism, we're not going to ever let them forget that. And history will not be kind to them. In fact when Trump commits atrocities, it will be in their names he does so.

Why is it up to Clinton voters to reach out to Trump voters and make them feel better? Aren't the so-called winners supposed to be the ones who make sure that everyone is represented and has a stake in the process? I remember before the election, when a lot of media folks were predicting a Clinton victory, there were all kinds of stories about how President Clinton was going to have to make nice with Trump supporters in their disappointment and disaffection. The next story I see about how President Trump needs to reach out to disaffected liberals will be the first one.

NOBODY seems to think that Trump owes anything to the majority of voters who didn't vote for him.

that they are on the list. They think they white and born in the U.S., with a paycheck.

They can't imagine how anything this asshole does will do anything to their little ole lives.

He canceled with one crappy signature a contract between our govt and allowing others in either by a visa or green card.

What happens when grandma gets her Social Security cut by 20 percent, by a signature due to homeland security needs immediate upgrades or the war effort.

They can't imagine it, so they won't take precautions to protect themselves. They are on the list, and so is everyone they know. Unless they are autocrats, which I doubt.

“We’re backed into a corner,” a 46-year-old small business owner told The Times. “There are at least some things about Trump I find to be defensible. But they are saying: ‘Agree with us 100 percent or you are morally bankrupt. You’re an idiot if you support any part of Trump.’”

As he summited up, “I didn’t choose a side. They put me on one.”

Bullshit. Anybody who voted for Trump deliberately decided not to see the racism, the sexism, The biogtry, the utter incompetence of the man

They own their vote.

If they're that special kind of stupid that thinks a multi-millionaire attention whore with a track record of enriching only himself and his cadre with questionable schemes will "drain the swamp" and take care of their needs, they are too dumb to live.
