They'll gleefully kill people to start this chain reaction that will give them almost unlimited powers.

swore that she didn't think Ds would get behind the prez in the event of a 9-11 type catastrophe. She didn't bother to specify who would actually be responsible for it.

BTW, dealing with her on politics is like listening to an ex-smoker as you two walk past the smoker's corner outside a highrise.

99.9999 % of the people flying aren't going to hijack or crash the plane.

The billions we spend on TSA are pretty much wasted and the flashy stories of guns and knives being seized at checkpoints are accidents and the people with them had no ill intentions.

All of the removing belts and shoes and time spent standing in line don't make us any safer or more secure.

With the harden cabins on planes and the passenger awareness ... maybe the TSA, in its current model, isn't needed anymore.

I was an airline ticket agent back in the days before any security whatsoever. The reason the original security came about was because of a whole lot of plane hijackings in the late 60's, early 70's. Metal scanners were installed at the gates, guns were found and confiscated and the hijackings dropped to pretty much none.

The current stuff is total bullshit, and it's why I have flown perhaps four times since 9/11.

And don't get me started on the limits on liquids and my makeup.

why most of the rest of the world's airports have cancelled their security programs. It must be because "accidentally" armed people are 99.9999% trustworthy and have "no ill intentions."

This means that we have no need to worry about that .0001% that would hijack an airplane and crash it into a populous area then, do we? Just the luck of the draw as it were, right? Just as long as we get rid of the illegal aliens we'll be just fine, and the home grown terrorists will all just go away.

One final question: If all of the "removing belts and shoes and time spent standing in line don't make us any safer or more secure," why haven't we had any hijackings since 9/11? Just lucky I guess, huh?

The federal government has some 2 million civil service employees and those "unfilled" appointees are filled with actings. Agencies had missions defined upon the agency creation and procedures from the previous administration that will be carried out until someone says "no do this instead".

Bannon seems to care a great deal for strangling particular pieces of the government, but Trump doesn't appear to give a fuck. He is not a leader or a competent manager.
