It think the reason people might prefer a lie to the truth is rooted in the human psychological system.
Or perhaps the tase for lies is bred in a capitalist system with advertising.
Whatever, if it is this rooted, how can anyone get through?

And by all indications, many of those who believed them have had the scales fall from their eyes since.
