because they consider them unclean. Part of the problem is you have to pick up after dogs, secondly you run a chance of tracking droppings inside if you have one and so on. Cats are ok because they are self cleaning.

Work dogs who guard a flock or an orchard are ok but many Muslims will try and avoid dogs.

for a variety of reasons. So what? I generally like dogs myself, but I wouldn't be inclined to approach and pet that one under those circumstances. It has an asshole for an owner and it doesn't appear to be well trained. Better to stay away from it.

If he had stayed back and asked NICELY he would have found out that in some sects of the Muslim religion dogs are considered filthy. I learned this from a show that I watched about a Muslim man who went blind and since they believe dogs are filthy he got a guide pony and the place he worshiped at fixed a place near the entrance for him to leave his pony safely while in the building. There was also a Muslim woman who had a guide pony instead of a dog just for the same reason. What an asshole.
