(22,308 posts)based on typical formation of systems like this.... they should have formed in an environment rich in water ice. (paraphrased)
This is not verified by observation yet.
Should know about atmospheres around these planets within 5 years.
P.S. There are no roads there so I don't see how that would be a road trip.

I refuse to let you stand in the way of my interstellar joyride.

Where we're going we don't need roads!

(3,148 posts)There's a total of three Earth-sized planets found in the habitable zone. Two are almost equal to Earth-size and are Tidal locked to their star. The third planet that is a little larger and further from the star. One gets the same light as Earth, one gets about the same amount of light as Mars and the third larger one gets an amount of light past Mars to asteroid belt.

(38,419 posts)I recall the book said there are very likely to be ...millions of planets..given the size of the universe, with life. The only question is when we would be able to find them, and contact that life. it was argued then, there would be .."intelligent life"..but that one did not get very far..
I believe there is intelligent life out there, more intelligent than us. and they are smart enough to leave this place alone....Perhaps the greatest sci fi movie of all time, "The Day the Earth Stood Still" relies on this idea..the aliens come to warn us, basically about us.. Oh well......???

(30,252 posts)New worlds, new vistas, new possibilities. Imagine standing on one of those worlds and gazing into the night sky, only to find other planets filling the night in the same way that our own moon does.
And if there be oceans on at least one world, the other planets will exert tidal forces on the seas.
Just let all of that sink in.
Wow.
