Steve Phillips, speaking on Sirius Progressive Radio, has done research that shows that

democrats are wasting time chasing what they think are lost white votes. His research indicates that the votes that turned the election were those that were cast for third party or alternate selections: Stein, Johnson, Sanders. Those are the voters that the Democrats need to make their focus. His research also indicates that alternate selections were greater than white housewives and white men. President Hillary Clinton actually won with the over four million popular votes. Most of his research is nothing new but he is trying to encourage the path Democrats need to pursue for victories in 2018 and 2020. I am looking to see if Sirius will allow a link.

almost 50 million new voters were registered - going from around 150 million registered to around 200 million registered. However, total number of actual voters only increased by about 7 million (Trump got about 2 million more than Romney and 3rd Party got about 5 million more than in 2012)

It looks like the new voters that turned out went for Trump, Johnson or Stein.

I am interested in those who don't vote--is it ideology? Accessibility? Resignation?

difficulty to get to the polls?
college students/youth not sure where to vote?|
newer citizens not sure when and where to vote?
turned off by the main candidates, or not inspired by them?
Voter suppression laws?
Name turned up on Crosscheck?

I have an acquaintance in Florida of Hispanic descent and she was initially not able to vote because of some reason or another, despite having voted in the same location every election day for over 10 years...she mentioned it on the Walking Dead group I was involved with online and I gave her some options (via some DU posters) and she was able to go back the next day and vote. But, how many people would not have made the effort or have shown up on the last day and not been able to return?

the Democratic vote and it WORKED! That POS got just enough votes in enough states to get Trump in office.

The real question is: Will progressive voters be stupid enough to fall for this trick again?

Jack Kennedy's father used this trick to get him elected to the senate in Mass by splitting the opponents vote.

that it's not possible to take strong Democratic positions and market them to a particular voting group AND reach out to left leaning people who do not vote or vote third party.

This is just a guy who is trying to convince Democrats that we need to be even more Left to appeal to those voters who didn't get Bernie but went with Jill Stein. Like Susan Sarandon.

He's the guy who wrote the column "Move Left Democrats" when Clinton won more votes with her message being solidly Democratic. Why move more left?

.. I am absolutely certain that voter fraud and suppression
actually made the difference; along with Russian hacking.

Still, Our Revolution is definitely the only way to move us forward!
