Oregon small business group comes to defense of Obamacare

An Oregon small business group is adding its voice to those calling on Oregon’s Congressional leaders to fight against repeal of the Affordable Care Act.

Main Street Alliance joined with Portland Jobs with Justice to release a report today called “A Cost Too High: The Financial Harm of the Republican Plan to Eliminate Health Care.”

The report quantifies the impact of ACA repeal on Oregon as follows:

475,000 people at risk of losing health coverage, either through Medicaid or subsidized private insurance
$2,656 a year in eliminated support to each Oregon recipient

45,300 jobs lost

$1.67 billion loss for doctors and hospitals

$23.9 billion in lost federal dollars from 2019 to 2023
