Administration hints at crackdown on recreational pot

By Marisa Schultz
February 23, 2017 | 4:53pm

WASHINGTON — States and localities that have approved recreational pot smoking can expect “greater enforcement” under the Trump administration, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said Thursday.

President Trump understands how medical marijuana can alleviate “pain and suffering” for sick patients, but recreational pot smoking is “the last thing” the federal government should be enabling, he said.

“There’s a big difference between that and recreational marijuana and I think that when you see something like the opioid addiction crisis blossoming in so many states across this country, the last thing we should be doing is encouraging people,” Spicer said.

“There is still a federal law that we need to abide by” ...

This is an attempt to exercise power. That's all it is. It's got nothing to do with pot. It has to do with antagonizing and attacking blue states. This is the war that Bannon, Sessions, and Trump want. They have to figure out what the upside of their "enforcement" measures would produce, but for sure, what will happen is MORE hatred of the Trumpies nationwide. And that's okay with them. Hatred of the Trumpy Administration, and of Republicans in general, is okay with them. It doesn't matter because they believe that nothing will bring them down. Nothing.

Look at the Russia connections. The GOP in Congress continues to allow impeachable offenses to go free. Trumpy and his cadre know it well, and they believe that they have a green light to dominate the entire nation with their idea of power and control.

This is real. We're watching fascism take hold. We're watching Republicans nationwide tacitly approve of fascism. Remember this, folks.

This isn't Joe Weed growing a bunch of plants in the woods or sneaking it across the "border" ( read, ocean). There are myriad stores, labs working on strains, grow operations, researchers, etc. involved. It would upend a bigger economy than most people realize.

Overwhelmingly, the results in legal states have been positive. Big tax dollars are being brought in, jobs are being created, opiate use rates are going down, and we're no longer ruining lives over something less harmful than alcohol/tobacco/opiates. What better way to throw the 2018 elections to the dems, look like utter hypocrites on state rights, and screw over the economy of states which have legalized?

This is the Republican chance to show that they'll actually respect FREEDOM, and not try their usual shit where they force morality down everybody's throats. Is this REALLY the thing they want to alienate >50% of the country over?

So, when the Sessions statement about pot and the KKK came out, a trumper I know got super defensive about the pot part, seemingly unphased by the KKK endorsement
