is anyone else waking up from nightmares about this administration? Sometimes it's just an image. Tonight it's Steven Miller and his white power salute from the White House.

(165 posts)I don't get nightmares about this but I only spend my time hating. Not sure if it's healthy or not but I've taken to spending my time just pouring hate on Trump and his voters. It's almost fun just hating trump and his voters, their reign in power will eventually slowly drift away and there WILL be consequences for their behavior. It's the nature of karma, I'm not religious but I do believe in karma, or a cosmic form of justice and it won't be pretty for them.

(24,718 posts)Because I feel some at least will awaken. But the racism and all the rest, and those who are cravenly using this for their own gain and know better, may they get what they deserve.

(30,717 posts)relationships will suffer if you continue that. You need to find an outlet. Join some of the groups that are working to thwart trump. Exercise. Clean your house or do lots of yard work. I know how you feel, but I am trying to find ways not to hate, but to accomplish something with like-minded people.

(18,866 posts)but not about Trump specicall you. It is very unusual for me to have nightmares.
It might also be this weird weather we are having.
Way too warm for this time of year.

I find that the compassion and empathy caring for my pets and family engenders also helps.
Good luck.

(4,223 posts)Spending time with my husband and our 2 cats and 2 dogs (all rescues), are keeping me somewhat sane. Living deep in the heart of SW Pennsylvania is very difficult but I am blessed with many good liberal friends. I have turned my back on anyone I know who supported trump. I am not proud of that but I have no choice.

(48,955 posts)spend far too much time reading news. Far more obsessive in my reading than I used to be. That said, I missed the image/moment you describe. Sounds sick. The way he speaks and lack of affect reminds me of the two aliens in the Simpsons that keep trying to take over the world.

(348 posts)I've been exhibiting a lot of signs of extreme stress. When I wake in the morning, my fists are clenched like I'm preparing to fight. And my jaw is clenched.
When I got a massage a couple weeks ago, the therapist worked a ton on my HANDS because of the clenching. She was baffled, but I knew why the hand muscles were so tense.
I haven't slept well since October. My anxiety was through the roof by election day - I mean, it was BAD.
I put on 10 pounds too. So now I just started NutriSystem to strip it back off of me. This election has really impacted a lot of ways. Really negative for me, that's for sure.
