Sanders surrogates might be what keeps him from getting the position. I would be fine with Ellison. It's a real shame that Sanders surrogates have gone as far as to call people anti-Muslim and corporate sell-outs if he doesn't get it. They really do come into these things with a religious mindset. There can only be one person. That's it. We actually have some great options.

I don't get why he has such strong support from people who don't want the Democratic party to succeed, however.

It's really demeaning to Keith tbh; his actual person or aptitude as a leader is irrelevant; he's just a vessel to project their adulation of Bernie onto.

I'm hoping that the David Duke line is a joke. Omg, it's real. But it wouldn't be that surprising. I don't mind Ellison's policies or general politics, but I wonder why people who hate the Democratic party are pushing him so hard

Jewish vote due to some unwise statements he made not that long ago. I like Keith but believe if he is appointed DNC chair...we lose. Consider that those who are not Democrats want Keith...including Trump...not a good idea.

I've heard interviews with Ellison, Perez and Buttigeg and they all sound good. But both Ellison and Perez will cause some dissension. So a relative outsider like Buttigeg might be better.

I hope if Perez realizes he will lose...he throws his support behind Buttigeg...and gives us a chance to defeat the GOP...it is so important.

If you object to Ellison's politics, behavior, or record, by all means fire away.

The people equating loyalty to party with loyalty to party figures, however, can go screw. We are the party, and we don't have time for that shit.

national experience, nor many connections with national Democratic leaders. He needs to run for Congress and win before seeking such a post at the DNC.

The DNC chair needs to be someone who can reach out and connect with national Democratic Party leadership and have his phone call answered immediately.

I like Ellison. I like Perez. Both have the national recognition factor that is very important. Either one would be fine with me. Both also have some minor issues with subgroups of Democrats, but who doesn't?

All of the candidates seem reasonably qualified and I want the person who is going to help the most in improving the party and helping us win back seats nationally and win back the Presidency in 2020. I think that trying to be divisive about who's going to be the head of the DNC is a huge mistake and is only going to make our political recovery more difficult at a time where we need to have all of our attention trained on slowing/stopping the Trumpublican agenda and winning back/keeping seats. Also, Trump is a Republican, so his opinion should be worth absolutely NOTHING to us.
