General Discussion

As America is threatened from inside and outside, the politicians in Washington are playing games as usual.
I find it hard to believe that leaders in both Parties do not sense the threats or the sense of dread in the masses?
What are they waiting on? Are they simply in denial about what is happening to our country?
Who are they going to believe? Trump or their own lying eyes? Are they really that much out of touch with reality?
Every day that passes puts our country in more danger. Conservatives are so confused that they now believe that anarchists are the same as "conservatives".
Has it gotten to the point that McConnell, Schumer, Ryan, and Pelosi can no longer have an honest discussion about the security of our nation because of past political transgressions?
Should not all of them want what is best for our country over what is best for our Party? How will history judge the lack of spine and courage in our present leaders?
Is it too much to ask that we find out the truth?

(7,431 posts)They're horrified, IMO, at Bannon's power and influence. Bannon's REALLY BAD FOR BUSINESS. The vacuum of leadership will be filled by GOPers whose donors will demand action. They'll want Bannon removed yesterday.
The most compelling reason to disqualify Trumpy as a functioning head of state is his horrible judgment in hiring Bannon in the first place.

(11,093 posts)Usually, the same thing is missing from every news report on television and social media, and in newspapers.... the Country Before Party crowd. Row after row of them. A huge bank of microphones. Worried faces. Going to get to the bottom of it pledges. Disgust with the White House attack on our democracy.
As for the nation's leaders, forget the brief answers to a reporter's question on their way through another closed door. The crisis we're facing requires a lot more than that. Our country is in danger and someone has to stop it.
