I can not log in. I have tried everything I can think of.
Does anyone have a direct line to send them an email.
I got an email message saying somebody may have accessed my account and to log in to secure my account.
I did bot click through the email but went directly to facebook page to try to log in. Faebook sent me an recovery code to my email but it still let me access my account.
I can not even pull up the Facebook app on my phone !!
HELP ANYONE !!!
PLEASE !!

(12,157 posts)Your problem may be with only your account. I'm not sure how you can contact Facebook without being able to login.

(2,768 posts)yea you should never click through those emails they tend to be scams. I'm gonna suggest you change your password once the site starts working again for you.

I can't say if Facebook has this capability, but some sites (my bank for one) will not allow logins if your device is infected with malware or certain viruses. If this is the case and the email is not a scam, it may be the only way to recover and secure the Facebook account.

(26,546 posts)"It looks like someone may have accessed your Facebook account. To secure your account, you'll need to answer a few questions and change your password the next time you go to Facebook.
For your protection, no one can see you on Facebook until you secure your account.
Thanks,

When attempting to change my password I get a notification that the change feature is "currently unavailable"!

(17,148 posts)I found this regarding the email:
This usually happens when you log in using different IP or using a proxy server. There are ways to solve that issue such as identifying some photos of your Facebook friends, or they will ask for your birth date or by answering a security question. Once you confirmed your identity, your account will be back to normal again.
Can you post the address the email came from, or the header?
On edit:
Although I'm not a Facebook user, I've seen this email before, when teaching basic computer. Someone was logged in via a couple of different devices. we went through the verification of friend's pics and all was good. That's not to say it's not a scam, but it certainly could be legit.

After changing my password and identifying a number of my posts my account was reactivated.

Is it a scam or a phishing attempt?
No. The email address it is sent from is from a Facebook owned domain, it passes the SPF tests (SPF = Sender Policy Framework), and all links in the email do actually go to Facebook.

(12,645 posts)Probably a browser issue since they updated their website and "improved" their security; kept kicking me onto the "log in" window whenever I tried to access any portion of my account.
That's the problem when websites try to push the "latest and greatest" to accommodate browser updates, assuming everyone is going to jump on Windows 10 or the latest OS. I'm on a computer that, due to the IT guys, is still a few updates behind.

(10,422 posts)Do a search on Twitter. I didn't realize it was widespread until I made a post about it and many others said they had the exact same issue.
