It is a dangerous game they play.
They are attempting to destroy facts. They are trying to destroy truth.
Because, no matter what they do, if they are called on it, they just say it is "fake news".
To preface, no person and no newspaper is perfect. They do not always report the facts. But, when they are told of their oversight, they don't accuse the people of being "fake readers". They correct their mistake and move on. They provide information that is necessary for our democracy to survive. People that fall for the "fake news" excuses, from Trump and his supporters, are useful tools that are somewhat dimmer than a refrigerator bulb...
Some citizens prefer to know the facts of a story, not whether or not Donald Trump is happy or unhappy with it. If we know the "facts", we can make our own decisions about whether it is true or not? We can decide on our own whether it is important to our lives or not?
Most Americans, with the sense God gave a goose, can determine on their own the value of a story. They want to be informed, with facts, not with partisan propaganda. Some of us resent the efforts of those that would prevent us from getting the information we want and need. We don't want and we don't need right-wing propaganda.
