I do not believe that I will ever, in my lifetime, lay witness to such a surreal state of affairs in Washington DC. Republicans will never be able to go any lower than Donald Trump. Absolutely impossible.

Had I purchased a paperback fiction with this premise as its plot, I would have ditched it immediately because it all sounds so improbable.

Are we all in the midst of a collective nightmare? Is this really happening?
