What about States Rights for Marijuana laws?
Of course we know that “states rights” is code for lets discriminate on whatever we want, whenever we want. So now we have Jeff Sessions as the AG who is an avowed Marijuana hater.
We have 26 states who allow marijuana for medicinal purposes and 7 so far have opened up and legalized it for recreational use. BUT, Jeff Sessions says “NO,” since Federal marijuana laws still list it as a Schedule I drug like heroin or cocaine; it is illegal and promises a Federal crackdown.
Sessions and 45 are gonna “Trump” individual “States Rights” and shut down their marijuana businesses? Colorado made $70 million on marijuana taxes last year, more than double what they made on Alcohol taxes – that’s a lot of money for Schools, Public Assistance, Medicaid, Children’s Health Insurance, and Transportation. Also repairing infrastructure like roads, and bridges because where else would a state get that kind of money? Nowhere! Colorado sold over $1B in legal marijuana for 2016.
45 is using “States Rights” to weasel out of transgender bathroom issues so he can use states to individually shut down OUR rights, but states that have legalized marijuana, even only for medicinal purposes such as chemotherapy side effects, are now faced with a marijuana hater as the top cop in the land and their “States Rights” are about to be “Overruled.”
Hmmm…It’s a fucking double standard circle jerk!
