against these assholes?
I have my doubts that the Red Districts will turn out the GOP idiots.
Even though what they are doing is exactly what they have always said they would do, and it is obvious they don't give two shits about any one except their corporate and rich masters, I am not holding my breathe that the votes against them will overcome gerrymandering, viter suppression and Red Bait issues.
What think you all?

(130,865 posts)it is possible, imo. I am not, however, holding my breath either.

(38,958 posts)at least these town halls are far enough away from the election to allow memories to fade.

(17,984 posts)voters are pissed off enough to vote dem, then yes. I think these town halls have become a much bigger deal than any negative press. I mean, the people who voted repuke, learned they are going to lose ACA and die, are now being confronted with the cold reality of these absentee congressmen. It takes a slap in their face from their own people to convince them they have been fooled.

(16,104 posts)It's all these other millions of voters - or non-voters - who need to make a thoughtful, informed decision - and learn from their mistake!

(7,408 posts)99.9% of voters never attend a town hall or pay attention to them.
They will portray "the left" negatively for shutting down town hall events though, maybe try to use it as campaign material to motivate their base. To far out to predict any effects though.

(58,785 posts)their dismantling of the structure of the America that provided security and stability for Americans to live their lives basically as they wished. They are changing the very meaning of what it is to be an American--away from all most of us believed was good and were once proud of. And then there will be the silly, dangerous and punitive actions of 45, who simply cannot avoid shocking and incredibly stupid behaviors.
This is only the beginning.

(16,858 posts)I think there's a reason Issa was saying we need an "intependent investigation" into Russia, because he knows just how vulnerable he will be in 2018. I think if the energy and anger can be tapped into, especially in red districts with purple potential, then we have the potential to turn a ton of seats. Now, that's a ton of big ifs, and it doesn't account for any unforeseen events like a 9/11 or what impact a potential impeachment will have on the midterms.
