Imagine the nerve of the DNC not considering the preferences of non-Democrats in their leadership election.

(28,151 posts)All that matters is the WH and the DNC chair. Anything below that is for silly little people.
Personally I don't think DNC chair is nearly as big a factor in things as all that. What matters is happening in cities, counties and regions RIGHT NOW. Republican legislators are running scared from their constituents. We, the little people, are taking the lead on this and we are making big progress in building a coalition of resistance.
I say let them focus the monkey shit flinging bullshit over there at that far off, unimportant target. It will keep the unproductive out from underfoot in the places where we are getting the real work down. That would be the trenches. Not that they've any interest in going there.
On edit: My comments apply to any keyboard commando who thinks political activism is criticism of those trying to make progress, making sure to never risk attempting an actual effort themselves. Don't care about this or that forum, there's such folks everywhere. It is always my hope though that something inspires them to jump in and at least try someday. I can't help it.

(54,365 posts)If he works his ass off, it can be a decidedly big deal. Howard made it a big deal precisely because he didn't stop at the congressional level. It is because he didn't neglect the towns and wards that he turned Congress around in 2006. It drained him, and Judy almost felt like a widow during that time, but Howard proved that if a DNC chair WANTS to be effective, he or she can. Even today, without any official party portfolio, Howard is still running around the country (and the world) supporting Democratic candidates and causes. His brother, Jim, is doing the same thing on the scale he can with DFA. Howard has the name recognition, so he is the one invited onto the talk shows, but sit down with Jim, and he can discuss just about any one of the 435 Congressional districts of the top of his head without notes.
Howard stepped down in 2009 because the party head (at least in practice) when it has the White House, is the President, not the party chair. He didn't want to butt heads with Obama on policy disagreements, so he stepped down. Now, we're back to 2001--albeit hopefully older and wiser.

(23,654 posts)I'm not saying either Bernie or Keith Ellison, whom I like are Russian tools, but I am convinced there is manipulation within their base to keep the animosity between the Democratic Party and the Bernie supporters at a heightened level. It's in the Russian's best interests to keep the Dem party fractured and fighting among themselves.

15. The only thing that happened to Keith is he is muslim and the jewish contingent
of the party could not have any part of the muslim being their party leader.
Nothing more, nothing less.

(53,031 posts)Stuff right out of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion.
What gets in my craw about that site and the DNC chair race is that none of them voted Democrat. The purpose of the site is to oppose the Democratic nominee. So why the fuck do they think they should have a say in the chair race? They defend Trump 24/7. The GOP is their party. Let them worry about the RNC chair.

(3,077 posts)At the DNC and the election results. I understand it but if you stay stuck in it, you don't move forward. Who knows, maybe the 3rd party may end up having more of a voice. Everyone has to follow their own path.
