trump out on his birther shit.. but, not sure that's the reason he's not going.

I think if he were flying high now and hadn't made a mess of his own admin he would welcome the chance to go and insult everybody he hated with lies. Especially Obama.

Plus, on the chance the invite would stand, any attempt at comedy by him--especially after he poisoned his relations with the press-- was bound to be an even bigger bomb than his standup at the Al Smith Dinner.

All president have some advisors and handlers. I'm sure he's got some who know that doing whatever they can to reduce the tweets and rage will offer some protection for the administration.
