Spicer Complains About Misreported Birthplace; CNNs Tapper Trolls Him With a Reference to Birtherismby Ken Meyer | 5:44 pm, February 25th, 2017
CNNs Jake Tapper took a dig at press secretary Sean Spicer on Saturday by making reference to one of the more controversial aspects of President Trumps political history.
Earlier today, the New York Times put out a report about Trumps continued feud with the press, his past relationship with tabloids, and his frustration with leaks in his administration. Even though co-writer Glenn Thrush says he emailed Spicer to ask about certain details of the Timess story ahead of time, Spicer took issue with a certain aspect of the content:

Enter Tapper, who added this bit of snark to the conversation:

Tapper, of course, is referencing the birther conspiracy theory that Trump propagated for years before he became president; he suggested that Barack Obama was not a natural-born American citizen (and therefore not a legitimate president), and he flirted with the idea for years before finally renouncing it during the 2016 election.

(51,076 posts)dRumpF did indeed renounce it but you and I and anyone with more than a couple brain cells knows he still believes that our good man President Obama was born in Kenya. I'd bet good money that dRumpF still believes that with all his heart

(53,410 posts)Trump was experimenting and building his base up so he could eventually run successfully. He probably already knew Bannon and was following his advice. When he was able to actually get a following it probably cemented his desire for what he perceived Presidential power would give him.
I'm sure it's much to his dismay that what he's gotten is all the parts where the American President has very limited power. Must be a real shocker to him.

I didn't sound like I was being aggressive! I was just wanting to add something to the discussion. Peace to you too.

(10,252 posts)but that it gives Trump perverse pleasure and satisfaction to denigrate, minimize, disrepect, and humiliate a black guy, who is more respected and beloved than Trump.
I think you have it 100%

(53,410 posts)But in their minds it's "unfair". Like a 3 year old who thinks that it isn't the same when he/she takes something that doesn't belong to them, but cries brokenhearted when something is taken from them. Both scenarios are "unfair". But you have to have the mentality and emotional age of a 3 year old.

Is that Spicer was born in a vat, fully-formed, like some weird creature from science-fiction.

(1,214 posts)I'm *trying* to engage in rational discussions, where I can, but lately I find that my knee-jerk reaction is a pretty angry one. As one of the Hobbits in The Lord of the Rings said, "If we all got angry together something might be done."
As for Dolt 45's people, I do take them seriously, but with an emphasis on how much damage they're doing.

(63,221 posts)From Wikipedia:
"He attended Connecticut College from 1989 to 1993, graduating with a B.A. in Government. In college he was a student senator. In April 1993, he wrote a letter to the student paper, The College Voice, urging that new campus anti-smoking rules not alter existing accommodations for smoking during examinations, then submitted an angry complaint after they rendered his byline as "Sean Sphincter", for which he received further ribbing from the campus satirical publication Blats. The incident was later cited as the beginning of his "contentious" relationship with the media."
Sean Sphincter!
