Last nite at the Oscars, the real Katherine Johnson came on stage with the 3 ladies. What a wonderful country we can be when we want to be.

Nothing against the other nominees, but I was very disappointed that Hidden Figures didn't win Best Picture.

So often we are denigrated as shoeless, illiterate hillbilly coal miners, uneducated and unaware. Katherine Johnson made us proud. I only wish we had known about her story fifty years ago!

6. We went to see Hidden Figures yesterday

I wanted to go when it first came out but we didn't have an opportunity until yesterday afternoon. What an inspiring movie! I made it through without crying but when they honored each woman at the end with their real photos, I couldn't hold it any longer.
