Montana: Reminder Daines Cast Deciding Vote for DeVos
According to BDC reporter Troy Carter, Senator Daines was the final vote (literally) in favor of confirming Betsy DeVos, the least qualified Secretary of Education nominee in American history. Senator Daines received almost $50,000 in donations from DeVos and her family.
Two Republicans joined Democrats in opposing DeVos. The vote was a 50-50 tie. Vice President Mike Pence issued the deciding vote to confirm DeVos. Daines’ offices have been flooded with calls requesting that he oppose DeVos. Sometimes money speaks louder than words.
