Trump on Yemen raid: "This was something that was, uh, you know, they wanted to do"

When asked about criticism from Owens’s father about the failed raid, Trump pointed out that planning for the mission actually started under former President Obama.

“This was a mission that was started before I got here,” Trump said. “This was something that was, uh, you know, they wanted to do. They came to see me, they explained what they wanted to do, the generals, who are very respected. My generals are the most respected that we’ve had in many decades, I believe. And they lost Ryan.”

Trump went on to say that he could understand why Owens’s father would not want to meet with them since there is “nothing worse” than losing a son. All the same, the president believes that the mission was worth it, as he claims Defense Secretary James Mattis told him it was a very successful operation.

Both the Obama administration and the Pentagon had rejected
that mission as too risky but did that stop Trump from saying
that "this mission was underway before my administration?"

..... and we had a chance to pull out but no Trump was not in the
oval office or the situtation room or the pentagon to give that order
but instead he was in his bedroom tweeting and watching Fox News.

I am sure that the repubs in congress are going to investigate this
mess.

He is not some giant, radioactive lizard spewing destruction in his wake. He is a stupid man who 'lucked out' into the most powerful position in the world. But at his core, he is still stupid.

We must not be afraid of the truly stupid.

guts to OK the mission.

http://thegrio.com/2017/02/08/trump-launched-raid-after-told-obama-wouldnt-have-been-bold-enough/

According to an anonymous official speaking to NBC News, the president ordered the raid after being told by Defense Secretary James Mattis and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen. Joseph Dunford that it would be a “game changer” if the raid was successful. Trump was also told that his predecessor, Barack Obama, would not have been “bold enough” to make the move, prompting the president to take action.

First of all, they are not "YOUR generals" dipshit. And YOU as CIC bear the ultimately responsibility for any successes AND failures. So no "THEY" did not lose Ryan. YOU did.

He ordered the mission... Not Obama.
And they gathered no useful information.
Other than those two things, his story is totally accurate...except maybe the part about meeting the family.
So, what is that?

When it isn't he dodges and runs away, leaving the blame on anyone but him. It's probably good for him that he never went to Vietnam because I am pretty confident he would have never come home alive. His fellow soldiers would have seen to that.
