George W. Bush Breaks His Silence on the Direction of the Trump Presidency: I Dont Like the Racism

I find it so strange to be posting GW's comments but then it shows how bad Trump really is.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For eight years since leaving the White House, George W. Bush has refused to criticize publicly those who succeeded him, saying he didn’t want to make an already tough job any harder for President Obama and, now, President Trump.

But one rocky month into Trump’s tenure, it’s harder to keep quiet.

“I don’t like the racism and I don’t like the name-calling and I don’t like the people feeling alienated,” Bush, 70, tells PEOPLE in an interview for the new issue of the magazine on newsstands Friday.

“Nobody likes that.”

The former president, joined by his wife  Laura, spoke with PEOPLE in the third-floor painting studio of their Dallas home to launch his first art book, Portraits of Courage: A Commander in Chief’s Tribute to America’s Warriors. The collection of portraits of the wounded warriors of America’s war on terror aims to raise awareness and funds for the post-9/11 veterans’ health care and employment programs of the George W. Bush Presidential Center.

As he discussed his most fervent passions in this post-White House chapter of his life—painting and helping the men and women he sent to war in Iraq and Afghanistan—Bush was reluctant to be drawn into conversation about the controversial Trump presidency.

kind of like thinking that the "seven days in may" scenario might almost be preferable to what we are enduring now.

Latinos, and he signed the Medicare drug program (yeah, I know it wasn't perfect but seniors had no prescription drug coverage prior to 2005). Didn't make up for his invading Iraq and killing tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis and ignoring other problems here, but it was something.

is that he was good at being able to find corrupt and incompetent people no matter their race or gender - Colin Powell, Condi Rice, Alberto Gonzalez, Harriet Miers, Karen Hughes, Elaine Chao, Mel Martinez, Christie Whitman, etc.

This image was after he left office. I know that both GWBush and Mrs Bush are big fans (dare I say students?) of HH.
HH main purpose is to teach about peace and compassion. It is never too late for any of us to realize our mistakes and put more energy and effort into doing good works. I don't expect GWBush to ever publicly confess his mistakes, but I think he is genuinely dedicated to helping our vets.

We could all do with more peace and compassion in our lives, and spreading it to others.

Maybe revenge for Bush not showing up at the GOP convention etc. After all anyone not stepping in line with them 100% is seen as an "enemy" and fair game.

Who would have thought... Bush is a voice of reason. Wow.

Just goes to show how utterly devoid of moral compass this admin is - GW Bush stands out as a beacon of enlightenment in comparison. Feels like I'm taking crazy pills! LOL
