I can't stand his voice or phoney inflections (trying to tone himself down like he is a reasonable person which we know he's not).
His hair always distracts me. Is that a real color?
His speech is always the same. Build a wall, kill Obama care (it's a disaster folks)
Going to have the biggest military and the most nukes ever. We will win wars and take the oil.
Anyway, along those lines. I don't expect the dems to do anything unexpected because we are decorous in these traditional occasions when the leader speaks.
I will catch the highlights from DU, and Rachel and friends. Then I don't have to look or listen to his tinyness.
So, I'm curious, are you watching tonight? Why or why not.

(6,454 posts)I want to see what kind of reception he will have also who claps and who stands up. Tweety will be on after the speech with Rachel and Bryon, that's a problem as I cannot stand Tweety and Bryon is barely tolerable. I am still undecided.

(624 posts)I just have to see it. Our country is literally crumbling before us, so I have to see what is being spewed forth. That's the only way I can counter it.
Afterwards, I will be burning up the keyboard as necessary. My FB peeps are getting an earful, and have been for two years now.

It's a great show, with good writing, wonderful sets and costumes and normally happy endings.

(20,816 posts)or even reading about it. No reason and no point. And I'd like to keep my blood pressure under control. He is not my president and it makes me physically ill that he's even anywhere near the Oval Office, let alone its actual occupant.
I have plenty of other activities to occupy my time. Even painting a wall and watching it dry would be a better use of time.

(58,785 posts)But this speech to Congress is just going to be boring, sickening, depressing. And if anyone on our side does act out on camera, I do not want to know it.
I do enjoy some clips when he's off script, even guffawed at waking up to read this one to a roomful of governors about replacing the ACA: "We have come up with a solution that's really, really I think very good." "Now, I have to tell you, it's an unbelievably complex subject. Nobody knew health care could be so complicated."

(15,800 posts)Getting bit by my own karma. After bringing some younger people into the voting population and urging them to pay attention (as opposed to forming opinions based on other peoples' opinions), I'm being challenged to take my own advice. So, yeah, I'll be watching. Cringing, wincing, groaning, and guzzling rolaids, but I'll be watching.

(43,049 posts)so I shall record his words of everlasting wit on PBS in the event something interesting happens. Like he gets the shits or passes out. I will probably switch over to C-SPAN at times for a giggle. Never any of the major or news channels, though. I don't give a damn if it's the Ghost of Cronkite or the sainted Rachel, I hate anyone wasting time telling me what I just heard.
Meanwhile, I assume it's just more of his standard bullshit

(2,380 posts)And I'm posting without reading the long list of responses your post has received. I want to be authentic here. And, like you, I'm on the horns of a dilemma. I want to be informed. My not watching tonight would not register as any form of protest. So, why can't I do it? Bottom line, I don't have anything to quell the nausea. I'm not sure my blood pressure won't spike. I'd be horribly unpleasant to my husband, before, and after. I can't. I just can't.
