US Senator Gary Peters (D-MI) should be mentioned as a potential 2020 Democratic candidate.

He is a United States Senator from MI- a battleground state in the Midwest.
He got elected to the US Senate in 2014-a Republican wave election year by a double digit margin against a top tier statewide elected official.
He served in the US Navy during the Persian Gulf War.
He represented a swing Congressional district from 2009-2013
He has a 90% overall progressive punch score/85% crucial vote progressive punch score.
Peters-MI could carry all of the Clinton 2016 states plus MI,PA,and WI.

Why do you think he could carry all of the Clinton 2016 states plus MI,PA,and WI? This is CRITICAL.

Peters represented a Suburban Detroit Area Congressional District before he got elected to the US Senate in 2014, Peters would perform better than Clinton in Detroit suburbs-MI, Philly suburbs-PA, and Milwaukee suburbs-WI. Peters could also perform well in OH.

Is up in 2020.
Democrats have an excellent chance of winning the 2018 MI Governors Race-Gretchen Whitmer-D
Debbie Stabenow-D will win re-election in 2018 by a double digit margin.

but Snyder's weren't any higher when he won re-election in a statewide race. I think too that after a couple years of trump, that the climate for Democrats countrywide will improve.

3)Debbie Dingell
4)Dan Kildee

All the OSU-UM silliness aside, Michigan and Ohio are very similar except MI has better scenery, OH has better roads.
