That would fit his modus operandi.
If he thought that would take the pressure off himself, he would do it.
He would then do his best to make Sessions the scapegoat of it all.
Don't be surprised if this happens.

(5,555 posts)Flynn got canned for lying to Pence and not being a Trump team player. There is no sign of disloyalty from Sessions, so Trump will obfuscate and call the media liars until the next story breaks.

That would force the Senate to explain themselves on this.
