My bet is that the GOP stonewalls until the 2018 elections

If we don't take over at least one branch of Congress at the midterms we are royally screwed. There might be some resignations, Sessions is shaky, but they will fight broad investigations as long as they run both houses.

They paid no price for 8 years of gridlock, we've got to make sure they pay for 2 years of maladministration.

If we can't drive a stake in them now, we are truly lost as a nation of laws and rights.

Getting through all 3 branches is tough if they don't care what the people think. They'll avoid townhalls and circle their wagons to confirm nominees with 2 vote margins in the Senate until forced from office by the voters.

Mitchell went out in Mar '72, Agnew was Oct ''73, finally Nixon in Aug '74. Mitchell and Agnew both went to prison and the Dems never formally brought charges. Nixon was a bastard, but even he valued the country and office enough to step down under pressure from his own party.

They might sacrifice some to try and quell the uproar, but without the impeachment hammer hovering, how many of this crop are willing to step down?

Only an election purge will eliminate this bilious orange fur ball.

They are good at those tactics. Their hatred and greed know no bounds.

I worry they will use the SC to push all sorts of suppression and denial of rights.

They seem to know how to push the Dems around without significant retaliation.

NJ and VA have statewide elections which need to be met with a blue broom.

IN other states, many county and local offices are up for election this year. These offices are our bench and it is important to take them over.

You have the press, the intelligence community, possibly the military and about 60 percent of the population up in arms.

Investigation are ongoing with the FBI our IC and other international intelligence communities. The GOP can stick their finger in the dam but the dam is going to break eventually.

The GOP have shown no intention of doing the right thing. Public disgust and a change election can save us from the brink, but without a bottom up purge, they'll return with someone less bombastic and more disciplined to take us down this road again.

But it's up to us to keep pushing for an independent investigation any way we can! How? Don't know yet, but let's keep brainstorming to figure it out. Keep contacting the good guys/gals in Congress to keep pushing for it, for starters. We need to hurry, tho. I'm sure the Repubs are destroying evidence as you read this.

And let's contact that do nothing DNC, and prod them to start working on it. Let them prove to us that electing Perez was the right thing to do.

the best we can hope for is to keep them under enough pressure that it limits how much damage they can do between now and this November, then we need to see REALLY BIG gains in the municipal elections to scare them enough to keep them from doing more damage, then 2018 will be the battle for the soul of this country - we either beat the LONG odds to win one or both chambers or the country has thrown in the towel.
