say sessions asks "have you had any contact with russians"?
is it ok for donnie, or manafort, or whomever, to say "no", with the understanding that it's ok as long as they "think" it's not "relevant"?
it's not merely that sessions lied (under oath, no less), it's that sessions is in the position of being lied to with *exactly* the same lie.
would sessions then prosecute for perjury someone who did *exactly* what sessions himself did?

(52,183 posts)i had perjury there and in an earlier draft it was clear it applied both ways but in what i posted i see that the perjury mention only related to the people sessions would be investigating, not sessions himself....

(101,295 posts)Yeah, this is why, in a democracy, recusing himself is the absolute minimum he must do (which is why Republicans are suggesting it - they hope that would mean he can get away with not resigning). Of course, he wants people to do as he did - say "nothing happened, it was all irrelevant, we just talked about the weather ...". He's an important member of the Trump politburo, and needs Russia to go away.
