Adam Schiff is talking to the press as I write now, but Nunes as Chair (?) was up first. Schiff is the ranking member, and outlined a "fairly comprehensive scope of investigation we've agreed to".
But Nunes -- what he said, when pressed about contacts with the Russian ambassador et al., was to look right at the offending reporter (Manu Raju, I think) and ask if he had had contacts with Russians and whether that would stand up to "an investigation." He repeated it for emphasis.

House Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes (R.-Calif.) and House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R.-Utah) wrote to the inspector general of the State Department todaycalling for him to initiate an inquiry into apparent abuse of power by senior State Department personnel trying to influence classification determinations for emails sent or received by Secretary Clinton.
The chairmen also wrote to current Secretary of State John Kerry requesting that he remove Undersecretary of State for Management Patrick Kennedy pending an independent and unbiased investigation into his conduct during the review of Secretary Clintons emails.

(31,261 posts)he is not Latin America Hispanic. His family immigrated from the Azores a long time ago. He should not be allowed to get votes because of his Hispanic surname, his policies are enormously damaging to professional class, working class and immigrant Hispanics. Bloody that bastard.
