Also, I think Comey has said the same thing?
Are they investigating or not? Is that too much information to divulge?
Comey should be a witness before the Committees, in my opinion. He needs to answer a few questions. Is he protecting Donald Trump in any manner? Does he have information or evidence that he is holding back from the Congress? Is he capable of pursuing an investigation that the people want and that is seriously needed? Who, in the Trump campaign, did he talk to before and after the election?
I fail to see the sterling reputation that the different Senators talk about?

(15,237 posts)Was it an investigation Sessions as in a Party of others or the result of a conflict of interest since he would be in the lead of any investigations? He can deny an investigation all he wants.

Very common usage of the phrase.

(18,250 posts)by long established protocol and best practices because refusing to discuss an investigation because it is ongoing would be implicit confirmation that there actually is an investigation.
Unless, of course, the the subject in question is Hillary Clinton. FBI Director Comey confirmed the investigation during the primary, and, in violation of standard FBI procedures, held an unprecedented press conference to exonerate Mrs. Clinton while excoriating her for "'extreme carelessness" as if that were criminal wrongdoing.
The usually circumspect Comey also made special concessions to publicly inform the leaders of a Republican-led witch hunt of what turned out to be extremely damaging, yet totally meaningless gossip and rank speculation 10 days before a presidential election. At the same time, Comey gave the Trump-Russia connection investigation every measure of discretion and confidentiality that is normally afforded by standard protocols.
Double standard, anyone?
