Painting yourself into a corner

How is the "honest mistake" still their talking point?

First statement was that it never happened.
⬇️
Then it became they did speak but not anything of consequence.
⬇️
Then, despite the claim of "completely honest" he recused himself from an investigation, that he knew about, that may or may not be happening.
⬇️
Then it morphed into there were conversations of substance but that he was there in his role as senator, which would have been very unusual given he was on the armed services committee.
⬇️
Then it came out he used trump campaign money to pay for expenses while he says he was on official senate business. Also not on his public calendar of events from his office.

How than is the party line he mispoke?

How is it that sessions, while still a senator, during the election, called for a special prosecutor against current AG at the time, Loretta Lynch, for a short meet and greet she had with Bill Clinton during the campaign but this is a different standard?

but he was on the Armed Services Committee, and not the chairman.

If any single senator on the Armed Services Committee were to meet alone with the Russian ambassador, wouldn't it be the chairman of the committee?

Sessions lies are catching up with him as his Russian meetings are not even on his senate office logs.

No sitting Senator, hell no nation's embassador, is going to have a meeting like that alone and/or "off the record" in the middle of an election, unless it's nefarious.
