45Pee should welcome an independent investigation by a non-partisan prosecutor and give access to his people and his taxes.

If there is no there there - then they have nothing to worry about and they would be cleared to go on and be presidential and work on the problems of our country.

Once and for all this matter would be behind them.

The longer they let this issue drip, drip, drip - the guiltier they look. It casts a giant shadow on 45Pee's administration and the Repug Party. In fact, the Repug Party should get behind this effort for an independent investigation.

They'd say, here are all the documents, recordings, phone records, etc. showing who we met with and when. Here's a list of witnesses. We will all be happy to testify before any committee. Then you'll see we have nothing to hide and we can all go about our business.

The problem is that there's a whole lot of there there. Those that are involved obviously don't want an investigation and the GOPers who are not involved know there's a problem but they don't want their guy and their party tainted by whatever's there turns out to be, because it will affect their own re-election chances. Maybe they think they can contain it, but the smart ones will figure out that the truth will be ugly and they'll do what the GOPers finally did about Watergate - which was run away as fast as possible.
