Steve Bullock-MT (He could put MT into play and turn AZ into a blue state.)
Jay Inslee-WA (He has congressional experience from 1993-1995,1999-2013) He represented a rural conservative from 1993-1995 and a suburban Seattle district from 1999-2013
US Senators that could be a Vice Presidential runningmate
Tammy Baldwin-WI (She is a strong progressive from a purple state-She can help win in the Rust belt states WI,MN,MI,and PA) Baldwin also has experience serving in the US House from 1999-2013 and the US Senate since 2013. The downside with Baldwin is that Scott Walker-R could run again for a third term and could win unless Democrats nominate a top tier candidate. WI needs Ron Kind to run for Governor against Walker. If elected Governor of WI, Kind could appoint Feingold to Baldwin's US Senate seat in 2021 when Baldwin becomes Vice President. Feingold runs again for the US Senate in a 2022 special election and Kind runs for the US Senate in 2022 against Johnson.

The potential 2020 Democratic Presidential/Vice Presidential candidate list can grow or shrink after the 2017-2019 elections.
2017 VA Governors Election- Tom Perriello-D, assuming he wins the Democratic primary and the General Election this November.
VA is a one term term limit state. US Senators Warner 2020 and Kaine 2018/2024 are likely to get re-elected, so President is the next route for Perriello. He served one term in the US House- representing a rural conservative district from 2009 to 2011. Perriello could turn NC and FL into blue states like VA.
2018 PA Governors Race- Tom Wolf-D gets re-elected to a 2nd term in 2018. Wolf is the most liberal Governor in the United States. The downside with Wolf is he will be over 70 in 2020.
I like Klobuchar-MN for both President or Vice President.

And not run for President. We need him overseeing redistricting so the GOP doesn't gerrymander the shit out of PA again.

Another name to watch is Phil Murphy, the NJ gov frontrunner. I met him a few weeks ago at a campaign event and was impressed with him.

PA Governorship would still be held by a Democrat if Wolf were to move to White House on 01/20/2021.

We NEED him here to counter the worst of the opposition! Please dear God let him be re-elected next year, he's the only thing keeping PA from really becoming Alabama.
Sen. Casey would be a great VP candidate. More and more I'm seeing him speak out for our side, in the past he was pretty under-the-radar.

2. I know Tammy personally

and never never never. she is a poor speaker, practically whispers. Feingold is a God here. And Kind is a jackass. Always votes with the Rs...he is a DINO...just voted to give guns to crazy people. I challenged him at 4 townhalls in the past regarding guns. He laughed at me. We need to get rid of him for once and for all. We can do much better than Tammy and Kind at the national level.

5. Feingold lost two US Senate Elections against the same person.

2010- Tea Party wave.
2016- Trump wave.
Feingold could have ran for the US Senate in 2012 to succeed Herb Kohl and won.
Former US Congressman/current Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett could have ran against Johnson-R in 2016.
Clinton could have picked Feingold as her runningmate in 2016 and win WI,MI,and PA, Johnson-R would have lost re-election due to Clinton/Feingold coattails.
Feingold should run for Governor of WI in 2018.

11. My observation is that once DUers start designating favorites they also ....

....designate least favorites and start saying things like "I vote my principles, not Party," and "My whole life I've had to hold my nose to vote for the nominee and I refuse to do that anymore because now The One has appeared," and "Look at this perfect 3rd Party potential candidate." Then next thing you know, posters are eagerly digging dirt on perfectly sound lifelong Democrats to such an extent the GOP will scarcely have to do their own oppo research.

Maybe I'm a bit jaded after 13 1/2 years on this board, but it happens over and over.

Here's my point: one reason we keep losing midterm elections is because Democrats don't feel excited that it's not the big hoopla of the presidential races. Basically, the ones who stay home think it doesn't matter if they turn out to vote for their Congressional Representatives, who have to run every two years.

It matters like your life depends on it. Midterms is when the GOP turns their people out in droves by putting things on the ballot that excite them -- you know, God, Guns, and Gays. And while Republicans are in the voting booths, they vote for Republican candidates.

Hey, I get excited about those issues too -- so I show up to vote against them. But apparently the average Dem across the country doesn't. The average Dem cost Obama the House and Senate.

Keep doing this, and soon enough the people in charge of redrawing Congressional voting district lines are majority-Republican and they gerrymander the hell out of those districts so no Dem will have a chance to run and win. And they get to be in charge of State houses so they can roll the voting rights laws back to Jim Crow.

I hope I am making myself clear. I believe good candidates will arise for 2020. They always do. But what is really, really urgent RIGHT THIS MINUTE is making sure there is a 50 State Strategy to change the composition of the House and Senate NEXT YEAR. The OP is absolutely blind to that -- or at least pretends to be. Post after post after post of "fantasy teams," and for what?
