Keep in mind that there are multiple Russia / Russia-Trump investigations... and ties between them will arise as each investigation continues.

I believe it was in a Malcolm Nance interview where it was mentioned that NSA had a related FISA warrant and that although the first FBI FISA request (covering 4 people)was denied for being too narrow...
the FBI resubmitted a broader request around October ....
no one has ever indicated that one was denied.

That means potentially 2 separate agencies w/FISA warrants ..

The US may not have had eyes& ears on all Trump Russia communications...
but ''tis likely that other (foreign) intel agencies have recordings that the US does not...
FISA allows the US agency to accept & review any intelligence provided by foreign agencies. that includes communications of US citizens.....
any country fearing Russian occupation will gladly hand over intel as well as any allies we have left .
