Dysfunctional Family Update...my brother-in-law's thoughts on the Trump Presidency.

And my sister is even more rabid. From an email I received yesterday:

Remember, I am a 100% Trump guy. I personally don't care if an alien was president and don't know anything or any names of any politicians as long as it don't effect us. So far nothing has. I don't want us to get political but, if Trump keeps his promises, I think he'd be the greatest president we ever had.

So I replied, and informed him about the plan to gut Medicare, Medicaid, and SS, and hand the money off to billionaires in tax cuts. I said nothing in the conversation about gay people and have no idea why he included them in his response.

Never heard him say anything like that or anything bad about gay people. I think you are believing those fake news things. So, if it happens, I will tell you I was wrong. I don't see Trump supporters rioting, shooting cops, burning and breaking cars and property and blocking freeways. Trump people are too civilized. Hopefully if Medicare goes away, we will be gone by then.

So then I told him about Paul Ryan.

Since we agree to disagree, let's try and stay away from politics and do more laughing. Just one thing. Paul Ryan (at least I know this guy) is behind Trump but when I look at him, Pence and Trump on stage, I see the snake in the Garden Of Eden or the snake in the old Disney Jungle Book. Like I said I know nothing about the people in any political office or their agenda. Believe me, if Trump turns out to be shitty I would turn on him in a heartbeat.

...but neither of them listen to Limbaugh. They both bought the red hats and had yard signs and bumper stickers all over the house during the election.

cause thats what you're doing, wasting your time. he said, if nothing effects him Trump will be the best pres ever. he's made up his mind. trump could wreck alot of things, lie, have ties to russia, but this guy has determined that if its doesnt effect him it wont matter. thats a low bar and you can try all you want, he wont listen.

My brother in law (wife's brother) is a crazy wingnut christian who drives to work every morning with one eye toward the sky looking for signs of "the end times." He actually told me that. They are poor. Four kids. Oldest daughter has two, and one on the way, that my brother in law and his wife are raising. 45 would spit on them if he walked by them on the street. Yet they just love him to death. My wife and I refuse to be around them. They are toxic.
