Trumps Hotel Trumped by Another President

U.S. News & World Report recently declared that the best hotel in the nation’s capital, derived from customer reviews and industry acclaim, is named after a president but, the third one, not the 45th one. The Trump International ranked just 37th. Sad!

Or maybe not to sad. A perusal of Hotels.com’s offerings of five star hotel rooms this Saturday in the city shows that Mr. Trump’s is the second most expensive available at $505 a night, with no discounts available. The top-rated Jefferson had a room for $305 a night, reduced from the rack rate of $800.

Is Trump getting a little extra help? Perhaps. Kuwait’s diplomatic mission moved its longstanding National Day celebration to Mr. Trump’s hotel. Mr. Trump himself had his first dinner outside the White House at his own hotel. The conflict caused by Mr. Trump leasing the property from the government has resulted in lots of free advertising.

Though, I suppose, it is small changes considering all the other costs of guarding all his palaces and his sons overseas travel.

Had all this been carried by a Democratic president, articles of impeachments would be prepared by now.
