Trump's wiretapping claim (mental illness)...

This really is evidence of mental illness imho. I've been resisting using that term because of the stigma it causes and the fact that I don't like diagnosing at a distance, indeed I made a post about it here. Up to this point I didn't feel that things he had said couldn't be equally well explained as him being evil and manipulative, lying and making up claims because he has no convince not because he believed those delusions.

But this is new territory imho. This is classic paranoid schizophrenia delusions. Add his family history of dimentia and it seems even more likely.

Since you know there was a good reason for doing it if a judge signed-off on it.

"It makes him look worse than Obama". President Obama ALWAYS looks better than that maggot. So how does President Obama look bad?

Bet he wishes he had played nice with the BIG boys.

not indicative of mental illness, though. Let's face it, a lot of ordinary people are "that way." When "normal" characteristics become so strong and consistent that they adversely affect a person's ability to live a normal life, they may be diagnosed as symptoms of personality disorder, or lead to evaluation for actual mental illness. I really do believe Donald has an obvious, strong personality disorder of the cluster B variety, Locut, and tendencies to paranoia fit perfectly well with that. No actual insanity, which is far less common than PD. If his "beliefs" seem nuts, well, PD does affect cognitive ability.

7. That is true. I mainly don't like to use the term mental illness...

When talking about Trump, because I don't like the idea of conflating bad behaviour with mental illness. While it's true that having a mental illness can indeed lead one to behave antisocially, without regard to the feelings of others, and or illogically, it's not an if and only if relation. Plenty of people exhibit these qualities without being mentally ill, we just call them ass holes. And there are plenty of those with a mental illness who don't exhibit any of these, indeed most don't. I don't like the stigmatism that can arrise when calling a criminal mentally ill when we don't know for sure 100%

That being said I'm very willing to entertain the idea that DT may be ill. And I agree with you that a personality disorder is quite likely.

Curt Eichenwald of Newsweek once tweeted that he believed Donald spent time in a mental institution in the '90s for apparently some sort of "breakdown," though he obviously hadn't been able to come up with proof of it. At that time, though, Donald had been on his own for the first time in his life. His dad had spent a decade or so declining into dementia before dying, thus was no longer able to rescue him from himself, and Donald was in the middle of various business disasters.

Fwiw, mental health experts don't consider personality disorders illnesses, just variations of normal that in some people become so strong that they can't function successfully within the wide range of what we consider normal in society.

In any case, Donald was handsome once, can be very charming, and is able to produce some successful lines of patter. I'm pretty sure that if he were the son of a roofer he'd have run through years of firings from jobs interspersed with periods of brief success, other periods on welfare/disability programs (not completely unjustified), lawsuits and prosecutions for various swindles and crimes, and a string of wives who all eventually declined to support him and ran as far as they could.

Like so many other dysfunctional assholes we soon learn to avoid like the plague...

10. However, Trump is extremely isolated and influenced by Faux News, Breitbart, Infowars, Nat Enquirer

Because his narcissism feeds on positive reinforcement and his handlers know he gets extremely upset with criticism, they keep him from being exposed to most mainstream news so he only hears about references to CNN, NYTimes, etc mentioned in his right wing sources. He is in the same brainwashed bubble as the millions of Americans who who support and believe in him. His malignant narcissism is clearly in play rather than paranoid schizophrenia as he is capable of high level performances as master con artist such as his speech.

Not only did the Sessions revelations replace and dump on his glowing speech reviews, but even Fox News had major coverage of the Sessions recusal and Russian contacts - bursting through some of his bubble and causing major damage to his narcissistic ego. Plus these developments have shocked him into panic mode fearing that Sessions won't be as able to protect him from the Russia investigations.
.
So, in that context, his twitter accusations against Pres. Obama are not simply delusional rantings but a natural reaction for such a racist hate filled brainwashed severe narcissist who must always blame someone else and find ways such as outrageous accusations, to reclaim the center of attention.
